Housing Development Services

Mazaska is dedicated to creating homeownership opportunities for the Lakota people. Mazaska offers one-on-one technical assistance, financial literacy and homeownership education classes, and housing loan products to create homeownership on the Reservation.

FINANCIAL LITERACY CLASS

This one day course introduces participants to the fundamental financial management concepts of budgeting, saving, banking, and credit.

HOMEBUYER EDUCATION CLASSES

This three-week course prepares potential homebuyers for the process of purchasing a home. Participants learn about down payments, mortgage loans, interest rates, and home maintenance.

These classes are provided by Mazaska and our partners, Oglala Sioux Tribe Partnership for Housing, Lakota Funds and Thunder Valley.

Mazaska offers a variety of loans to fit a range of housing needs. Our loan products are listed and described below.

Homeowner Credit Opportunity Loan

Loan Range: $10,000-$150,000
Term: 5 years

Home Purchase Loan

Loan Range: $10,000-$150,000
Term: Up to 30 years

Rehabilitation Loan

Loan Range: $10,000-$40,000
Term: Up to 15 years

Construction Loan

Loan Range: $25,000-$150,000
Term: Maximum 5 draws during 12-month construction period followed by long-term financing from Mazaska or another lender.
