Earlier this year, the South Dakota Community Foundation awarded Mazaska CDFI $100,000 in its Beyond Idea Grant (BIG) initiative to support a new, innovative network we are calling the Community Support Network. Our Community Support Network is a way to connect existing homeowners who have successfully become homeowners on Pine Ridge with aspiring homeowners currently facing difficulties realizing their homeownership dreams. The Network champions two ideas: (1) the best teachers for aspiring homeowners on Pine Ridge are other community members who have faced the same challenges and triumphed over those challenges and (2) we hold the teaching and educational resources needed to be successful right here on Pine Ridge. We are excited to see what impact the Community Support Network brings and extend our thanks to the South Dakota Community Foundation for their investment in our aspiring homeowners and community.
